The only solution to the health dangers of sitting is to get up and move. Now, there's an app for that! Take A Yoga Break is now available on iTunes for iPhone and iPad*. The TAYB app features over 30 yoga-based moves you can do right at your desk, including exercises to relieve eye and neck strain. An update on our app date.

We at Take A Yoga Break™ want to thank all of you, our subscribers, for standing up for your health. You're taking yoga breaks from the dangers of prolonged periods of sitting, and we salute you! Our beta test period has done exactly what it was supposed to do: show us how we can serve you better. Using an email delivery system allowed TAYB to be free to subscribers, but at another type of cost--it doesn't work as well as we'd like it to. Timing is everything.

Our vision of the future doesn't include flying cars; we're more hoping that yoga classes will be a typical work perk, and that Take A Yoga Break™ will be an app. We're working on the app now in order to better enhance your TAYB experience. A specific feature we're incorporating is time customization. Right now, email delivery systems can either send TAYB reminders once a day (which isn't enough to combat the dangers of sitting), or send multiple emails at East Coast times. Take A Wellness Break: breathing easier

You don't usually have to think about breathing; after all, it happens automatically. But when you're stressed, your "fight or flight" mode is activated. As your body prepares to do battle or beat it, breathing gets short and shallow, which feeds that panicked feeling. Deep, calm breathing tells the body there's no real danger. Work up that warrior spirit! Just make sure you have enough room behind you to extend your leg comfortably. Move slowly--be a gentle warrior--following a comfortable breathing rhythm.
