TAYB tip: Keep a tennis ball under your desk and roll it back and forth, alternating feet, for a way to move your legs that won’t interrupt your concentration.

Treating PTSD with TSY: Patients suffering with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder are gaining benefits from Trauma-Sensitive Yoga (TSY), a new type of yoga therapy and Trauma Theory. “TSY is about giving people tools for using their bodies to change how they feel,” says TSY Facilitator Marie Mortensen.

Why Meditate? Meditation may look like zoning out, but there’s a method to the mindfulness. People who meditate, says Dr. Herbert Benson of the Benson-Henry Institute for Mind/Body Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, are experiencing “a specific genomic response that counteracts the harmful genomic effects of stress.” Read about it here.

Yoga Is Only for the Young (at Heart): Yoga instructor Connie Dennison plans to resume teaching classes, as she’s done for the past 40 years, in a few months—just after her 100th birthday. Dennison is in the running with Tao Porchon Lynch, 96, for the Guinness World Record holder for World’s Oldest Yoga Teacher. You’re never too old, and it’s never too late!
